Starting Point: Harsil / Bagori Village

Trek begins from Bagori or Harsil village, a charming mountain settlement situated on the banks of the holy Bhagirathi River. Harsil is known for its apple orchards, traditional wooden houses, ancient culture, and breathtaking mountain views. As the trail ascends gradually from Harsil, trekkers walk through dense forests of deodar, pine, oak, and rhododendron, accompanied by the soothing sounds of birds and mountain streams.

Kyarkoti Bugyal and Alpine Meadows

As you move higher, the landscape opens into wide alpine meadows leading to Kyarkoti Bugyal, a beautiful high-altitude grassland located at an altitude of around 3,800 meters. The vast green expanse of Kyarkoti Bugyal offers mesmerizing panoramic views of some of the most magnificent Himalayan peaks, including Mount Srikanth, Horn of Harsil, Bandarpunch, and several unnamed snow-covered mountains.

During summer, the meadows are carpeted with colorful wildflowers, while in early winter they transform into snow-laden dreamscapes, making the trek visually rewarding in every season.

Kyarkoti Lake and Wildlife Experience

One of the major attractions of this trek is the Kyarkoti high-altitude mountain lake, surrounded by open pastures and dramatic mountain scenery.
