Butter Festival

Dayara Bugyal Butter Festival is an annual festival celebrated in the meadow during the month of August or September, usually around the time of the full moon.

During the festival, locals from nearby villages gather at Dayara Bugyal to make butter from the milk of the local cows. The butter-making process involves churning the milk in wooden barrels until it turns into butter. The freshly made butter is then used in various traditional dishes, such as chapatis, paranthas, and sweets.

The festival also includes cultural performances, such as folk dances and songs, and sports events like tug-of-war and races. Visitors can also go on hikes or treks in the surrounding mountains and enjoy the beautiful views.

The Dayara Bugyal Butter Festival is a unique cultural experience that showcases the traditions and way of life of the local people of Uttarakhand.
