Brief Description

There are dozens of beautiful bugyals. (velvet meadows) in the Ganges-Yamuna valley of Uttarkashi district. Which attract tourists. One of these is Harunta Bugyal, situated at an altitude of 2900 meters above sea level. Its beauty is mesmerizing. Harunta Bugyal is also the source of Indravati river. This river comes to Uttarkashi and joins Bhagirathi. It takes maximum 3 to 4 hours to reach Harunta. But on reaching here, there is a feeling of immense joy.

Walking route of Harunta Bugyal starts from tourist place Kishanpur. on Kedarnath road, 14 km from district headquarter Uttarkashi. This 7 km journey is very thrilling. There is a dense forest of Banj, Buransh, Thuner, Moru, Rai on the way. Where the clamor of birds and the sounds of wild animals break the silence. The first Chhota Bugyal falls on this track at a distance of 1 km. It is called Khal Bugyal. This is where the cleaning of the villagers begins. These are generations-old cowsheds and houses built in forests.

The villagers of Badgaddi Patti go to worship at that place every year. From where the Indravati river originates in the middle of Bugyal.

Villagers of Aleth, Kisanpur, Manpur and Dhanpur villages of Badgaddi. belt in Harunta Bugyal have sieves. Here tourists easily get food, milk, curd, ghee, butter etc. There is another Bugyal at a distance of 1 km from Harunta. Here too, the filters of the villagers of Kisanpur are installed.
