The Dodital Darwa Top trek is a popular trekking route in Uttarakhand, India. It is a moderate-level trek that usually takes 5 to 6 days to complete and covers a distance of around 44 km.

Starting Point of Dodital Darwa Top Trek

The trek begins from the small village of Aguda, located about 26 km from Uttarkashi and nearly 168 km from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand.

From Aguda, the trail gradually passes through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and deodar trees. In addition, trekkers walk across beautiful meadows and cross gentle mountain streams along the way.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Rishikesh to Aguda (190 km | 8–9 hours)

Arrival at Aguda Village

Depart early morning from Rishikesh. The scenic drive passes through Narendranagar, Chamba, and Uttarkashi, offering beautiful views of the Bhagirathi River. Reach Aguda village (6,600 ft) by evening, which is the starting point of the Dodital trek. Check into a guesthouse or homestay. Trek briefing and preparation for the next day.

Day 2: Trek from Aguda to Bebra (8 km | 5–6 hours)

Forest Trail & Mountain Streams

Begin the trek from Aguda after breakfast. The trail gradually ascends through dense forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron. Cross small streams and enjoy peaceful forest surroundings. Reach Bebra campsite (8,900 ft) by afternoon. Evening at leisure with tea and snacks.
Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Trek from Bebra to Dodital Lake (7 km | 4–5 hours)

Reach the Sacred Dodital Lake

After breakfast, continue the trek towards Dodital Lake. The trail remains scenic with gentle climbs and forest walks. Reach Dodital (10,800 ft) by noon. Explore the crystal-clear lake, surrounded by dense forests. Visit the ancient Ganesh Temple near the lake. Enjoy the calm and serene environment.
Overnight stay in tents near the lake.

Day 4: Trek from Dodital to Darwa Top and Back to Dodital (10 km | 6–7 hours)

Summit Day – Panoramic Himalayan Views

Start early in the morning for Darwa Top (13,600 ft). The trail involves steep ascents through alpine meadows. Upon reaching the summit, enjoy breathtaking 360° views of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, and other Himalayan peaks. After spending some time at the top, descend back to Dodital by evening.
Overnight stay near Dodital Lake.

Day 5: Trek from Dodital to Aguda (15 km | 7–8 hours)

Return Through Forest Trails

After breakfast, begin the descent towards Aguda village via the same scenic route. Walk through dense forests and meadows while enjoying the final views of the Himalayas. Reach Aguda by evening. Check into a homestay.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Drive from Aguda to Rishikesh (190 km | 8–9 hours)

Departure Day

After an early breakfast, start the return journey to Rishikesh. The drive retraces the scenic mountain roads through Uttarkashi. Reach Rishikesh by evening, marking the end of the Dodital Darwa Top Trek.
