Sar Pass Trek – Explore the Beautiful Himalayas
···—

Sar Pass Trek is one of the most scenic and adventurous Himalayan treks in Himachal Pradesh. Nestled in the stunning Parvati Valley, this moderate-to-challenging trek offers an unforgettable journey through dense forests, charming villages, alpine meadows, and snow-covered mountain landscapes.

This trek begins from the vibrant village of Kasol, a popular base known for its serene riverside setting and backpacker culture. From here, the trail winds through lush pine and deodar forests, crosses sparkling mountain streams, and opens into vast green meadows bursting with wildflowers during the summer months.

As you gain altitude, the scenery transforms dramatically. Thick forests give way to rugged terrain, glacial patches, and expansive snowfields. The highlight of the journey is crossing Sar Pass, standing tall at an elevation of approximately 13,797 feet (4,199 meters). From the top, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including vistas of the Parvati region and distant snow-clad mountain ranges.

Experience the Himalayan Lifestyle

One of the most thrilling moments of the trek is the descent from Sar Pass — often involving an exciting snow slide on wide, snowy slopes, making it a favorite among adventure seekers.

Throughout the 4–5 day journey (covering approximately 35 km), trekkers camp under star-lit skies, experience the warmth of Himachali hospitality, and immerse themselves in the raw beauty of the Himalayas. The trek requires good physical fitness, as it involves steep ascents and descents, along with changing weather conditions at higher altitudes.

Whether you are an experienced trekker or an adventure enthusiast looking to push your limits, the Sar Pass Trek promises a perfect blend of thrill, natural beauty, and cultural richness.
